Promotion Requirements
Test material for each rank includes drills, kata and ippon kumite (two-person work). There are no testing fees. Advanced classes (by Sensei’s invitation only) are held on Monday nights for students at Brown Belt and above. Weapons training also begins at Brown Belt.

- Kama* – Hand-held sickle for cutting rice
- Noburikama* - Sickle on the end of a 5-foot staff used for harvesting rice
